City of Dreams Experience
March 8, 2015 marks the beginning of
summer. I have been longing for this day to come and finally it's here! We, as a whole, need to take a load off every now and then now that it's summer. Students like me need to step back, unwind, and loosen up after a year of schoolwork. My friends and I prefer not to spend too much time and luxury just to relax and go on long vacations since staycations has always been useful for us.
We knew staying at a hotel
wouldn’t exactly be cheap. Despite the fact that my friends and I had a rundown of hotel alternatives that also offer a wide variety of facilities ranging from moderate neighborhood cabins to sell-a-kidney level of costly hotels, we didn't like to hold back on the one of a kind experience City of Dreams offers.
So off we went to Mall of Asia to eat lunch
at Pepper Lunch and proceed to City of Dreams after. Packed with our overnight
bags, we checked in, got settled into our rooms located on the 3rd
floor and then we girls went straight to the pool while the boys hit the gym/fitness centre.

The hotel does not only offer an outdoor pool, but they also offer a jacuzzi. You can check my Instagram account (@michellechen4) for our goofy videos underwater :) Be aware of the kids though, they kept putting their slippers in the pool!

City of Dreams is conveniently located right at the heart of Pasay and offers guests the perfect escape from the city. A floor made for heavenly food and topnotch restaurants are just some of the little indulgences you get to appreciate while staying at City of Dreams. I genuinely yearn for the day I can backpedal and do a little staycation once again. In the meantime, allow me to share with you these photographs I took from my last stay.
We had dinner at a fancy restaurant on the
first floor. The Italian restaurant serves pasta, pesto, pizza, and the like.
As the clock struck midnight and we were still widely awake, we decided to go to the fitness centre. Since there were no people, we had all the gym equipment to ourselves!

After exercising, we grabbed some midnight snacks from a typical restaurant that serves ice cream, fries, and burgers. I almost fell asleep while waiting since they have really slow service. When we got back to our hotel rooms, we decided to watch a horror movie, The Grudge. We woke up at 8 only to realize that none of us finished the movie because we all fell asleep. The Grudge just replayed itself three times haha!

My friends hit the pool early in the morning
but I decided to stay in bed and get more sleep. When I woke up, breakfast
was already being served. We had longganisa, egg, and hot chocolate from
McDonalds. We checked out of our hotel rooms an hour past noon and ate lunch at
Project Pie.
I know fancy accommodations seem like a
waste of money but if you can, why not splurge a little? It adds so much to
your summer experience, especially when you’re in a place like Manila with your
friends. You don’t have to splurge all the way but it would be nice to try at
least one. And if you’re trying just one, I highly recommend City of Dreams Manila.
