Eurotrip 2015 - Looking Towards Switzerland

Switzerland is the ultimate destination to experience scrumptious dishes, high adrenaline sports, and definite relaxation for its stunning landscape can be the background to your adventure! In our mission for an unforgettable tour in Switzerland, my family and I voyaged south from Germany, crossing the most tremendous waterfall in Europe, the Rhine Falls. My favorite part of the tour however is the time I felt like a true insider while I was strolling along the lesser known parts of the city.

Wilkommen!

The trip began with a late afternoon ride from Germany to Lucerne. From the moment we arrived in Switzerland, we were greeted by the breathtaking view of the mountain peaks covered in snow. It was an energizing sneak peak to what was to come.

That same night, we had dinner in a Chinese restaurant and checked in at Monopol Hotel for our overnight stay. The hotel does not only offer guests the opportunity to experience a wonderful time, but in addition to offering one of a kind services, five-star facilities, and elegant designs, it also contains an accumulation of luxury, mystique, and a profoundly local character.

The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast in our hotel. There were enthralling views of lake and mountains from the dining area.

WHAT WAS IN STORE FOR US THAT DAY:
I seem to have the most fun playing with snow so whenever the opportunity presents itself, I welcome it with open arms. According to our itinerary, we were going to Mount Titlis to soak up the frozen gas. However, just after having our breakfast, we received a phone call from Mount Titlis. The operator informed us that they were closing Mount Titlis for that day due to the possibility of a snowstorm. I didn't know how to react at first, it was like my touristy heart being shattered into pieces. I could literally feel the pain and tears coming out of my eyes.

I actually geared myself up for the snow :(

Instead of riding a cable car from Engelberg to Mount Titlis, we just had a photo stop at the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. Leave it to Switzerland to create another astonishing attraction that defies all odds. The Lion Monument, or the Lion of Lucerne is a testament to that. If you are to look at the lion closely, you can perceive how sad it is. According to my research, the monument commemorates the Swiss watchmen who were slaughtered in 1792 during the French revolution. The figure of the mortally-wounded lion was even labeled as the "the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world."

After our photo opportunity with the monument, we were given our free time for leisure, so we went shopping at the same place where we had our dinner the night before. One of the things I've learned in Europe is that stores close really early. If you find yourself desperate for shopping at 7pm, then you have to wait until morning in order to shop. Prior to my trip to Lucerne, there's one consistent thing I've generally caught wind of the place because almost everyone around me has been gushing about its insane deals– it's every Swiss shoppers' ideal shopping paradise.

I think I've said this before but I’ll say it again anyway– my favorite part of every adventure is the possibility of playing with snow. Just when I thought our Switzerland trip was ruined due to the Mount Titlis incident, another door opens itself! Before riding a train bound to the peak of Mount Rigi Kulm (alternative plan), we first prepared ourselves for our lunch in Lucerne. I had pumpkin soup for appetizer, fish for main course and strawberry ice cream for dessert 😋

It appears like wherever you go in Switzerland, the snow-covered mountains seem as though they're only a couple of steps away. Some portion of me wants to reach out, thinking that possibly I'd have the capacity to touch them and find out that they were just some kind of painting. My urge got considerably stronger when I touched base in Mount Rigi Kulm. Mount Rigi Kulm surpassed every one of my expectations. Surrounded by covers of white snow and rolling mountains, I was in wonderment of its beauty. The breathtaking ride up into the high alpine glaciers permitted an overview of the deep crevasses. We needed to take a considerable measure of lifts to get to the pinnacle.

I don't know when my addiction for snow began yet I appear to cherish it the whole time I was in Mount Rigi Kulm. At some point, it made catching Switzerland's view all the more engaging. When I got out of the train, I actually couldn't feel my hands. My lips began to shake, and my knees ended up plainly weaker. Nevertheless, what a worthwhile trek it was!

Imagine, a little girl at the edge of a mountain and the wind was possessing great and impressive power of strength. Good thing there was a coffee shop nearby!

The pictures presented above are just a few of the snapshots I took while in Switzerland. Because when you're in a place as wonderful as this, it's hard not to take a gazillion photographs. Each and every corner seemed as though it was from an iconic movie!

After transferring back to our hotel, we had salad, chicken, and a cup of fruits for dinner.

Ending my Switzerland story with a bang! I thought I'd compile all the photographs I took of the spots we went to during our short time in Switzerland to give your eyes a visual feast. But before truly saying farewell to Switzerland, we had our last trinket shopping near the enormous dark colored bears. Oh, and it began to snow on our approach to Paris! Switzerland was unquestionably a delight to visit!

Switzerland is such an incredibly beautiful country with no shortage of stunning view and a lot of adventurous activities to take part of! Because they have so many different tours available, you will undoubtedly gain some new useful knowledge. It's a place so rich in culture and history, each corner has a story to tell. I was still soaking in all the beauty as I strolled along the familiar alleys and plazas even. Toward the day's end, I couldn't have asked for a better country to visit! 💗
